Can the shades be removed so I can clean my windows?
Yes. Simply unsnap the screens from your house or RV using the EZ Snap Removal Tool and clean the glass. An added benefit of having EZ Snap shade screens on your house is that the windows do not show dirt as readily. Windows look dirty because the sun is reflecting off of the dirt allowing you to see the dirt. When you shade the glass, you also shade the dirt and the sun doesn’t reflect off of it. Windows that always look clean is a bonus to installing EZ Snap. The removal tool is available in the EZ Snap online store.

The removal tool seen on the right now comes FREE in every kit sold through the EZ Snap online store. This tool is used to remove your shades if you want to store them for the winter or cleaning the glass.
How to use:
Simply slide the prongs between the stud and the base of the pin. Pry the pin away from the stud until the pin unsnaps from the stud. The pin and cap stay locked together in the fabric, ready to be snapped back onto the stud again in the spring. Many of our customers leave there EZ Snap shades up all year round as there is no need to remove them for winter, unless you want the heat from the sun to help warm your home.
Last winter I took my shades off to get the full heat from the sun and now the snaps don’t line up, what happened?
Because the screens are dimensionally stable (they don’t shrink), it is likely that you are putting your screens on either upside down, backwards or on the wrong windows. It is a good idea to mark or tag your screens when you remove them with information on the windows they can off of. Also make a note of their positioning on the window (top, bottom etc…)
How do I clean my EZ Snap window shades?
You can clean your screens right on the window using a garden hose. If you desire a more through cleaning, simply remove them, wash with a soft bristled brush with warm soapy water. Use a mild dish washing liquid. Rinse well.
Our grandson fell against our screen through an open window. Luckily the screen kept him from falling out, but he pushed hard against the screen and now there is a wrinkle in the fabric. How do I remove the wrinkle?
Simply remove the female EZ Snap caps from the male EZ Snap pins. This can be done by pushing the small lever on the top of the cap to the side. This will release the interlocking teeth inside the cap from the shaft on the pin. Then pull up on the cap and it will come off. Once you have them apart, simply reinstall the mesh as if you were doing it for the first time. You will be able to remove all the wrinkles by applying a slight tension to the mesh when you install it and selecting a different hole in the mesh.
Do I have to remove the screens in the winter time?
No. As a matter of fact we find that most of our customers leave their screens on all year round. You can choose to remove your screens if you want to use the suns heat in the winter to help heat you house. Just unsnap the screens from the house using the EZ Snap removal tool.
