02The Snap

Three parts.

The patented EZ-Snap® Cap & Pin™ fastener is a three-part system: a stud bonds firmly to your surface, a pin snaps onto the stud through the fabric, and a cap locks the pin in place. The pin and cap stay attached to the fabric. The stud stays on your surface — a strong, weather-resistant bond that still removes cleanly when you're done. The two halves snap together and apart — infinitely — for seasonal removal, cleaning, or repositioning.

Stud

Bonds firmly to your surface — and removes cleanly when you're done. Available in 3M™ adhesive, stainless steel screw-in, or combo. Four colors: white, beige, gray, black.

Pin

Female base snaps onto the stud. Sharp plastic shaft passes through the fabric. Locks the cap in place.

Cap

Presses onto the pin through the fabric. Locks the fabric in place. Color-matched to the stud.

Note: Spacing should be 10" apart maximum for standard applications. For shades over 25 sq ft or high-wind areas, use 5" spacing. Install temperature minimum 60°F (ideally 70°F+).

Prep

60 seconds per stud

Clean the mounting surface with isopropyl alcohol. Apply the 3M Primer Pen (included free). Peel the liner and press the stud in place with firm pressure.

Cut

5–10 minutes

Lay out the fabric on a flat surface. Measure and mark with the included pencil. Cut to size with household scissors. Both fabrics cut cleanly — no fraying, no hemming.

Snap

30 seconds per snap

Snap the pin onto the stud. Push the pin's sharp shaft through the fabric. Press the cap onto the pin. The cap locks the fabric in place — held and ready.
