01 The Shape Problem

Standard blinds only do rectangles.

An arched, triangular or cathedral window is the one no off-the-shelf blind fits. Interior shades leave the peak bare, or you pay for a custom order, and either way they trap the sun's heat inside against the glass. EZ Snap works the other way: the mesh is cut to the exact outline of the opening and mounted on the outside, so it stops the heat before it reaches the glass. The U.S. Department of Energy rates exterior shading the most effective way to cut solar heat gain.

No template sent off to a workroom. No four-week wait. You trace the shape, cut the mesh with household scissors, and snap it on.

03 The Method

Trace the shape. Cut it. Snap it on.

1 · Template the opening

any outline

Tape paper over the window and trace the shape: arch, triangle, curve, whatever it is.

2 · Cut the mesh

household scissors

Lay the template on the 6 ft-wide Thermo Weave roll and cut it out to shape.

3 · Snap it on

no drilling

Stick the no-drill snap studs to the frame with 3M™ VHB, then snap the mesh over them.

Cut any shape: no fixed rectangle, no custom order

04Sizing & Price

The roll cuts the shape. Precuts handle the straight windows.

For an arch, triangle or curve, start with a cut-to-fit roll. Precut rectangles cover the standard windows alongside it.

05Questions

Do I need a custom order for an arched window?

No. That's the whole point. You cut the mesh to the shape yourself with household scissors, so there's no custom order, no template sent to a workroom, and no made-to-measure price.

How do I shade a triangular or gable window?

Trace the triangle onto paper, lay it on the roll, and cut. The snap studs go along the two straight sides and the base, and the mesh follows the peak exactly, with no rectangle left hanging over the point.

Will it fit a half-round or eyebrow arch?

Yes. Cut the mesh to the curve and run the snap studs around the arched frame. For a half-round over a rectangle you can do it as one continuous shade or split it into the arch and the rectangle.

Does it work on curved (bowed) glass?

The mesh does. The no-drill studs bond to the flat window frame around the glass, not to the curved glass itself. 3M™ VHB needs a flat surface. Most arched, bay and eyebrow windows have a flat frame to mount to.

Will it block my view or darken the room too much?

From inside you see out like through a screen; from outside it reads as a dark tint. Black mesh blocks the most heat; white is a more open weave for a brighter room. Order the free sample pack to compare both.

How much is it versus a custom arched shade?

A cut-to-fit roll starts at $39.99 and precut shades at $24.99, a fraction of a made-to-measure arched shade, because you cut it to fit instead of paying for a custom order.

Cover the shape.

Trace the arch, triangle or curve, cut the mesh, and snap it on the outside. No custom order, no four-week wait, no bare peak.
