Black mesh or white — which do I pick?
Black blocks more heat and disappears against most glass — you'll forget it's there. White reflects more sunlight back and keeps interiors brighter. Most RV and skylight buyers go black; most home-window and marine buyers go white. Get the free sample pack to feel both before deciding.
How do I measure for my windows?
Measure the outside dimensions of the glass plus 2 inches of overlap on each side. The Kit Builder walks you through it — there's no math beyond "width × height + 2 inches." Save any leftover fabric for future kits.
Will the studs damage my window frames or siding?
No. 3M™ VHB bonds to vinyl, aluminum, fiberglass, glass, and gel coat without drilling. It's the same adhesive automakers use to mount body trim. Removes cleanly with isopropyl alcohol if you ever want to take it off.
Can I see through the mesh from inside?
Yes. The tight solar-screen weave reduces view distortion — from inside you see out clearly, while from outside the window reads as a dark tinted surface. Visibility is closer to a clean window screen than to a privacy film.
Does it work on skylights and roof glass?
Yes — and skylights are where shade mesh is most effective, because that's where the worst heat gain happens. The same kit installs on flat or pitched skylights, and on boat and RV glass too.
