01 The material

Thermo Weave™ solar-screen mesh

The same Thermo Weave™ mesh, sized for the one opening a blind can’t reach — up on the roof, over the curb. It shades the skylight from above, where the overhead heat actually builds.

The weave

Black / white

Black blocks the most solar heat — best for hot climates. White is a more open weave: more daylight and outward view. Same fabric, your call.

See-through

Optical-grade

A solar screen, not a blackout blind — you keep the outward view and daytime privacy while the room cools and the glare drops.

Cut to fit

Won't fray

Trims to any window with household scissors — no hemming, no binding. It won't stretch or fray at the cut edge.

Care

Weatherproof

Rinse it clean with a garden hose; leave it up year-round, or snap it off and roll it away for the season.

02What it saves

Stop the heat at the glass — and the cooling load with it.

A skylight bakes a room from directly overhead — the sun sits on it for hours. Shading the dome on the outside keeps that heat off the ceiling, so the A/C isn’t fighting it all afternoon.

03The no-drill snap
A real EZ Snap install — the no-drill snap studs bonded around a window before the shade goes on
EZ Snap Cap & Pin cross-section — the stud bonds with 3M VHB, the pin passes through the mesh, and the domed cap locks it on without piercing the surface

Snaps on, snaps off.
No drilling, ever.

01 The bond

The 3M™ VHB studs bond to the frame around the opening — never the glass — so there's no seal to damage and nothing drilled. The same adhesive grips vinyl, aluminum, fiberglass, glass, and plastic.

02 Snaps off

The Cap & Pin™ snaps the mesh on and off in seconds — take it down for winter light, cleaning, or travel, then snap it back. The low-profile studs stay put between seasons.

04Why Skylight owners choose it

Made for the one window a blind can’t reach.

Bonds to the curb, not the glass

The 3M™ VHB studs stick to the skylight curb — never to the pane — so there’s no seal to damage and no warranty to void. It shades the glass from above, where the heat is.

Dome or flat
02
Dome or flat

Flat skylights sit flush against the mesh. Domed (bubble) skylights add the Airflo spacer, which lifts the mesh off the dome so air moves and the shade clears the curve.

In summer it blocks up to 90% of the overhead solar heat; in winter, unsnap the mesh to let the sun and warmth back in. The studs stay put for next season.

Asphalt-shingle curb mount — exterior skylight shade

Stops the overhead heat before the room becomes a greenhouse.

06FAQ

Does it work on a domed (bubble) skylight?

Yes. Domed skylights add the Airflo spacer, which lifts the mesh off the dome for an air gap so it clears the curve and air can move. Flat skylights don’t need it — the mesh sits flush.

What is the Airflo spacer?

A small spacer that holds the shade mesh off a domed skylight, creating an air gap over the bubble. The builder adds the right quantity automatically when you mark a window as a dome.

Will it damage the skylight seal?

No. The studs bond to the curb around the skylight with 3M™ VHB — not to the glass — so the factory seal is never touched.

How do I install it up there?

The studs mount to the curb — 3M™ VHB on a smooth curb, or the included screws on a wood or shingle curb; the mesh trims to size with scissors and snaps on. Work at your own pace — most owners do it from a ladder or the roof, one window at a time, no contractor and no appointment.
